It is August already. There is only about six weeks of summer left and then I will be home alone for the first time in eight years. It is hard to believe that my youngest will start all-day kindergarten and the oldest be in third grade. I know I will miss them the first few weeks, but I am also looking forward to getting projects and dive more fully into health coaching. I have several ideas percolating that I look forward to investing time and energy into.
Until then, I plan to take a vacation from my computer screen to spend more time with family and to take care of myself. I often post about the importance of self-care and do try to make it a part of my week on a consistent basis. Sometimes, a little more is needed. The next few weeks will find me cheering on the kids at swim lessons, camping with my family, gardening, canning and doing some serious reorganizing to make all of our lives easier.
Of course, I will still spend plenty of time in the kitchen and have a stack of books to work through. Look for new recipes, book reviews and more in September.
