This morning I made a double batch of a wonderful bath salt blend designed for detox and relaxation. I used this batch as a thank you gift for some amazing moms I know. I tend to keep a supply on hand for myself as well.
Detox baths can do a number of wonderful things for your body while you are relaxing. In addition to the relief of any muscle soreness, you will be removing toxins from the body, increasing circulation and softening the skin.
So the next time your family gives you a hard time about sneaking off for a quiet bath with a good book, tell them you are doing it for your health (because you are).
Here is the recipe I used, courtesy of Amazing Herbs and Oils
*2 cups Epsom Salts
*2 cups baking soda
*2 cups sea salt
*5 tbsp ground ginger
*1 cup vinegar
*Combine dry ingredients, storing in a close container
*At bath time, add 1 cup of dry ingredient mix and 1 cup vinegar to hot running water.
*Optional: add several drop of your favorite essential oil
